THE PURPOSE SOCIETY

The Lower Mainland Purpose Society is a non-profit social service agency whose mission is to deliver a continuum of social, health, education, early intervention and residential services. These services are designed for individuals, children, youth and families who are subject to personal and/or societal distress, marginalization and alienation. Through these services the Agency aims to enhance personal well-being, strengthen family functioning and increase personal responsibility, confidence and health decision-making. In the Agency's work with children it is recognised that the early years are the most important to a child's health development. A child develops best in a family where the parent(s) are supported in achieving their goals and reach their full potential. Emphasis is on a client-centred approach within a continuum-of-care model, which focuses on the health, resiliency and resourcefulness of individuals. Services are provided in a safe and respectful environment where diversity and connection to community is valued.
