The second annual WIRED event at Nitinat Lake was held July 26 - 28, with about 200 participants.

The winds were great this year, with Sunday's 'Expression Session' having ideal conditions for tricks, loops and jumps. It was so good that the Queen of Nitinat (above) was out for a sail and Santa even dropped in for a visit, a few tricks and presents before sailing off, North again.

We had a great bonfire/weiner roast, with impromptu entertainment, fabulous prizes and of coarse, great sailing and racing. Prizes ranged from hats and T-shirts up to fins, booms, sails and a 7.0 Sailworks sail and mast.

Racers of all ages and all levels competed. The Recreational class was apparently the most fun to watch - they called us Rec'ers, for good reason, that first jybe-mark was a real challenge!

Stay tuned for race results and hopefully, more photos. I'm looking forward to WIRED '97 already, maybe this time I'll win one of those big prizes.
