Impurity in the Church Today

This matter has been on my heart for some time now.

Fundamentally as Christians we have a great responsibility to function as Priests. This is not a light matter.

It is true that as Christians there is mercy, and that mercy does triumph over judgement.

But this does not excuse sin. Sin still brings death without repentance.

The problem with judgement not coming immediately after disobedience that the impression can be given that there is no judgement, yet without repentance judgement is inevitable.

Rick Joyner talks about this in, " Overcoming the Spirit of Poverty."

When impurity is tolerated within the church, this is the same as "The Sin of Achan" ( reference Joshua 7 ), where by sin of one man victory is lost.

It is impurity within the church today that hinders victory.

The little foxes that spoil the vineyard - gossip, murmuring and judgement.

As Christians we have a tendency to judge non-Christians - yet this is not our responsibility.

It is all too easy to walk into negative habit patterns - but the Lord is there to help us to walk in a higher level of love and purity.

1 Chronicles 29 v 17

"I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity." NIV
